U.S. Rep. Billy Long issued the following statement regarding the University of Missouri Health Care's decision to close the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon:

"My office has been in contact with concerned parties regarding the University of Missouri Health Care's decision to close the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, which is a result of funding decisions made at the state level. We are monitoring this situation closely to determine how this decision impacts area veterans who receive care at the veterans' clinic at Mt. Vernon. My office is prepared to help Southwest Missouri residents impacted by the University of Missouri Health Care's decision to close the Missouri Rehabilitation Center. My office also stands ready to assist the university with transition assistance for affected employees."
